A three-second error on a three-second run is not a small inaccuracy. It is a broken measurement. And it repeats across the category — the same complaint appears in the reviews of nearly every phone-based timer, including the ones with the most downloads.
Why most phone timers fail
Almost all of them use GPS position alone, sampled once per second.
Think about what that means for a 0-60 run. The run lasts somewhere between three and six seconds. At one sample per second, the app has about five data points to work with, and everything between them is a guess. The exact moment you started moving falls between two samples. The exact moment you crossed 60 falls between two samples. Both get interpolated, and the errors stack.

The fix is not a better GPS chip
It is using the sensor your phone already has and most apps ignore: the accelerometer.

- Consistency is where a phone is genuinely strong. Run the same car, on the same road, in similar conditions, and the run-to-run differences are real. That is what actually tells you whether the new intake did anything.
